The National Day of Prayer Task Force for Buffalo, New York and all of Western New York will sponsor the National Day of Prayer in Downtown Buffalo on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Noon. This annual event is known as the Prayer in the Square. We will promote the event with Concerts of Prayer. These are smaller events, using worship and prayer together to seed the ground for the needs in the Buffalo area. We conduct prayer according to the National Day of Prayer oversight and pray in seven areas. Those areas are: Praying for Government, Praying for Education, Praying for Business, Praying for Media, Praying for Families, Praying for Military and Praying for Churches. These are the very fabric that make up America and we need to intercede on their behalf like never before. The theme verse this year is, Isaiah 58:1a. "Shout it aloud, do not hold back, raise your voice like a trumpet." We hope to see you at one of our Concerts of Prayer soon.
What is the National Day of Prayer?
The National Day of Prayer is a yearly event, held on the first Thursday of May, nationally. This year the theme is "Wake Up America".
In light of recent events in the world and nationally, it's appropriately named. It's time for America to wake up and pray. It's time to take our rightful place... on our knees for this country.
Here in Western New York, we organized several Concerts of Prayer events for you to come and participate leading up to the National Day of Prayer.
This year we will host concerts at Benders Christian Bookstore, Love Joy Full Gospel, Elim Christian Fellowship, and UB. Come join us to pray and worship.
Sometimes, you get overwhelmed. You just don't know how to pray. Is God even listening? He is. He hears every cry of your heart, spoken and unspoken.
If you feel stuck and not sure how to pray, or if you just can't get enough information about prayer, you'll find some great Prayer Guides that you can download, including a 30-day calendar on our Prayer Guides page.
